Hello! My name is Natalie. I have been a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the CNO since 2011. I spent the first 7 years of my career as a nurse in LTC (specifically with Alzheimer’s patients) which was deeply rewarding. In December 2017, I decided to further my career and became certified in Advanced Nursing Footcare. Since then, I have been able to expand my practice using the most advanced and innovative technology in footcare to best serve my patients. When I left LTC, I never anticipated this would become my passion, but it has turned out to be the most rewarding nursing I have every had the pleasure of practicing. With 7 years of full-time clinical experience in the footcare industry and over 13 years as a nurse, I am confident I can assist you with your footcare needs and work with you to find solutions for your ongoing foot health and comfort. I have a huge passion for helping people and making them feel their best. I truly enjoy the one-on-one time and therapeutic relationships developed with my patients and getting to know them as a whole. My nursing philosophy has always been to provide patient focused care rather than task focused care. I am a bit of a perfectionist and always ensure you care is done right, and is never rushed. I strive to always update my education in the industry and offer the most innovative and effective treatment options for my patients in the clinic. I understand that the general population are often embarrassed to seek help for their foot problems. If this sounds like you, I encourage you to contact me. Please remember, I am in this career because I absolutely love it, and I strive to make every patient who sits in my chair feel completely comfortable from the time they arrive until the time they leave. As the permanent tattoo says on my arm: “They may forget your name, but will never forget how you made them feel”. Those are words I live by every single day, with every single patient interaction. I truly hope to meet you soon! Natalie Doucet is known as ... A journey to excellence Hello there! I’m Kim Andrew, a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse with a heart for making a positive impact on people’s lives. My health carejourney began at Eastern Ontario’s Loyalist College, where I made the Dean’s List and graduated in 2014 with a solid foundation in nursing. During the first five years of my nursing career, I had the privilege of working in long-term care, striving to establish meaningful connections with seniors and contribute to their well-being. This experience opened my eyes to an amazing opportunity. Canada’s aging population, coupled with thesharp rise in the prevalence of diabetes, means demand for professional foot care is surging and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. My life-transforming decision to focus on professional foot care was also driven by a desire for career independence. Like many nurses, I wanted more flexible hours and working conditions so I could spend more time with my family. I also sought to amplify the tremendous sense of accomplishment all nurses feel when health and well-being flourishes under their care. Specializing in foot care offered the potential to make my career aspirations a reality. And so, in 2019, I stepped up and opened my own nursing foot care company, Best Foot Forward, in Carleton Place, Ontario, a small city about 30 kms west of Ottawa. This clinic was the first in our community and region to offer a full range of specialized foot care services. From day one of the clinic’s operation, my goal was to raise the standard of foot care in a diverse range of areas including caring for seniors, children, athletes, addressing foot pain, and helping patients with health conditions such as diabetes. Over the past five years, I have undertaken extensive training aimed at achieving that objective and hold certifications in range of techniques, such as: Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care Treatment of Ingrown Toenails Treatment of Onychomycosis Writing Policies and Procedures Nail Bracing Certification Onyfix Nail Correction Photodynamic Therapy Compression Therapy Podiatry Burr and Drill Certification Swift Microwave Therapy LCN Nail Reconstruction The clinic flourished. And, over time, the pathway to “next level” foot care became clear. Foot health is closely connected to other health issues such as joint and back pain, osteoarthritis, gait disorders, and pre- and post-surgical procedures. It became obvious to me that amultidisciplinary approach held the greatest potential forsuperior patient outcomes in terms of enhancing health and mobility while minimizing pain and discomfort. I reached out to other local health care providers to explore potentials for collaboration. And, in 2022, Ipartnered with Dr. Sam Cooper, DC, a wonderfully skilledchiropractor, and opened FIT Healthcare, a collaborative, clinic providing Medical Foot Care, Chiropractic Care, Physiotherapy and Registered Massage under one roof. Since its founding, our clinic, which is one of a very few health care facilities in Canada offering foot care in combination with an array of other treatment disciplines, has undergone tremendous growth and patients report consistently high levels of satisfaction. Operating FIT Healthcare is a dream application of nursing skills that reflects my deep-rooted belief in holistic healthcare and collaboration. I hope you will join me on the quest for the ultimate standard in foot care – where a warm and friendly approach meets total dedication to making our patients’lives better. Together, we can push back the boundaries and build collaborative relationships to advance the health, comfort and happiness of our patients. Owner of FIT Healthcare

Hi, my name is Michelle and I’m one of the managers at Advanced Foot Care. I started working as a foot care nurse back in June of 2021, training and working my way up to my current management position. I have been a nurse since September 2012 and spent 9 year working in a LTC facility while I continued my education and became a foot care nurse. I have a passion for working with elderly people and enjoy that I’m still able to visit facilities to complete their foot care needs. Once a week you can come visit me at the Windsor clinic location. I also visit several LTC faculty around the Windsor Essex County area to complete foot care for the residence who require our services. We are very excited to have exclusive contracts as their foot care specialist. Our services run from compression stockings, orthotics, diabetics foot care, to name a few and I look forward to answering any questions or concerns you may have. I graduated from the Practical Nursing program at the Centre for Nursing Studies in St. John’s Newfoundland on December 15th, 2010. A diploma I ventured to achieve after becoming a single parent in 2008, ensuingly having gained various educational and work-related experiences. At the age of 30 I was unsure if I had completely lost my mind for such an undertaking or if I had finally found my calling. I eagerly accepted a temporary full-time position with Eastern Health in the Mental Health and Addictions department. A place that felt like home as I have a passion to help others who are ailed by such conditions as dementia, Alzheimer’s, and the many complexities that stem from a diseased brain. During my first year of employment, I was given an opportunity to travel out of province to attend an Advanced Foot Care program through Senior Watch Inc. located in Saint John, New Brunswick. Due to the fact that I was in a temporary position I enthusiastically jumped into the specialty of feet. Prior to the course I had little knowledge about the importance of foot health. As the clientele added up and the years passed by, I became impassioned with my job. I no longer felt like I was headed out to go to work anymore. I’ve always heard that if you do what you love for a living, you’ll never work a day in your life therefore I can no longer say I am going to work each day as I am simply doing what I love. While working still within Eastern Health as a casual call-in float LPN I started my “side gig” of providing in home foot care services. The business soon picked up, fortunately for me, having the flexibility of being self-employed enabled me to be a 100% devoted Mom to my little girl as I continued to earn a living at what I now call my Dream Job. I am a lover of learning and I continuously seek out ways to advance my knowledge. I enrolled in a Foot Care Symposium a few years into my career as a LPN FCM to broaden my scope and at this said event I met with many colleagues some of which offered me a position as a Podiatry Nurse at their clinic. I took the offer to join the Podiatry Associates to work alongside four podiatrist. Over two years of being a team member I acquired great quantities of skill in a clinic setting. Some of which include; nail avulsion prep, ultrasound therapy, fitting of orthopedic shoes and orthotics, gait analysis, and scalpel techniques to name a few. During my time at the clinic I also collaborated with a team of nurses who have formed a foot care interest group. At our annual education days I taught scalpel techniques to enhance the current curriculum of the foot care program offered at the Centre of Nursing Studies. I’ll am still an active member of the NL Foot Care Interest group on Facebook. I moved back to my rural Newfoundland hometown from the city after meeting my now husband and between us both we have 4 children. Two are current college students and two are in Grade 10. I provide services in a mobile setting traveling to my clients homes covering an area of approximately 180kms. I am also a vendor for Eastern Health to provide foot care for subsidized residents in 2 personal care homes, senior cottages, and a nursing home located in Grand Bank, NL This clinical partner endeavor excites me as I feel I will have the chance to share my dedication for improving lifestyles for the people of rural Newfoundland as the resources are so few and far between. Yours truly, Ivy Stacey LPN FCM Owner of Advanced Foot Nurse Services
